The Department for Education has published its guidelines for the full opening of schools in September, built on the critical need to reduce the number of contacts between children and staff. This is to be achieved both by keeping groups consistent (the same individuals always together) and by keeping individuals within those groups a safe distance apart.
This year saw the relaunch of Creative Education Trust’s much-loved photography competition, inspired by the late Michael Dickson who was a founding trustee.

Artist and map-maker, Mychael Barratt, visited Thistley Hough Academy on 5 February to present his narrative maps to year 9s and support their research about Stoke-on-Trent.
On Friday 31 January, specially selected experts – year 9 students themselves – travelled to London from as far as Nottingham, Great Yarmouth and Stoke-on-Trent for an important research event.
Sixth year of CET Shakespeare festival sees 200 students take to the stage over two days.
Sixteen finalists competed for Creative Education Trust's 2019 sixth form prizes in public-speaking and essay writing.
Over 40 students from six sixth forms attended the Creative Collaboration Prize final event in London on 18 September, drawing to a close the second year of the competition.
The third annual Creative Education Trust creative writing competition saw 14 finalists from seven schools spend a day at the British Film Institute in the summer of 2019.
